To our valued customers and prospective customers that we have done estimates for: we are writing this as a bittersweet message. After 18 years of being in business and starting our business from scratch (by ourselves, no hand me downs, etc.) with hard work, blood, sweat and tears – We have decided that it is time for us to RETIRE. Bob has been doing work in the pool and construction industry for almost 25 years and when we had a new infant at home – we decided to open our company.

We will be honest and say that we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into when we opened Backyard Pool Creations, Inc.; the headaches, stress; yet happiness and joy that the business would bring to our lives. Bob has always had a goal to retire by the age of 50 and he recently celebrated his 48th birthday. We are proud to say that we have far exceeded any expectation or goal that we had in our minds for our company. In our 18 years in business, we have made it through the construction slump, recession, COVID, and all the negative pool press of other bad pool businesses; yet we still remain strong and on top of our game. We deliver a high-quality product at the most affordable price we can offer with a quick turn-around for our customers.

We have maintained a great reputation not only with our customers and some of the communities we work in but also the Pasco Sheriff’s Office and have worked with officers of all rankings from entry level up to very high leadership in Pasco, Hernando and Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. We are so proud of the relationships we built with them professionally and personally. We have not only maintained good relationships with our customers well after their pools are completed, but we have made lifetime friendships with some of our customers – even traveling with some families, including them in family gatherings and becoming like extended family.

Our business has blessed us and our family in ways we didn’t even know to expect. The way we have been able to help other family’s dreams come true and to see the joy on their faces when the project is complete and to know that memories will be made with their families in their dream pool. The friendships and relationships we have made with customers and professionally with vendors and suppliers. We have been able to donate to different charities in the community as ways to help give back. The favorite thing for me has been the relationships that I have been able to build with my customers throughout the process of the projects and getting to know them and their families by working with them and seeing the excitement as it all comes together; and then when they realize that it is even better than they  thought. That is the comment we receive most – This is better than I imagined it would be. That makes my job complete and my heart happy.

Bob and I are going to go out on top before the county inspectors (who tend to constantly make up their own rules), the inflated supply costs and all the negativity (of other businesses in the industry and people in general) gets the best of us. We are going to RETIRE and enjoy the freedom that comes with that to be able to spend more time with our family and focus on things we enjoy that we may not have been able to do before because we devoted so much to the business.

To our current customers and recently completed customers, please do not worry. We will be completing ALL of our projects and NOT leaving anyone left incomplete or pending any open concerns. We will be sending you an email in the next day or so with some information as to a new contact phone number because by June 9 the current phone number will be disconnected. To the prospective customers that recently had estimates and were ready to sign contracts, you will receive different email correspondence from us as well by the end of the week (June 9).

WE APPRECIATE ALL THE CUSTOMERS THAT WE HAVE HAD, ALL THE REFERRALS, POSITIVE REVIEWS, CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE BECOME FRIENDS OR LIKE EXTENDED FAMILY. WITHOUT ALL OF YOU WE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL FOR THE LAST 18 YEARS. WE ARE SO EXCITED FOR THIS NEXT CHAPTER IN OUR LIVES AND TO SEE WHAT IS IN STORE FOR US.
